Gold Coast Hinterland

The Gold Coast Hinterland is a mountainous area in the South East Region of Queensland, approximately 70.6 kilometres south-east of Brisbane, the state capital. Consisting of a number of conservation areas, the hinterland's nature reserves include the Nimmel Range, Numinbah Valley, Tamborine Mountain, Tweed Range, and sections of the McPherson Range. Home to over 20,000 people, its residential communities include the Gold Coast suburbs of Mudgeeraba, Nerang, Tallebudgera, and the towns of Advancetown, Austinville, Beechmont, Canungra, and Springbrook.

Part of the Great Dividing Range, the Gold Coast Hinterland is one of the primary tourism hotspot within South East Queensland. With several accommodations and facilities in the area, the hinterland allows for its visitors to participate in a number of activities, such as bushwalking, bird-feeding, and eco-tourism, as well as to go on sight-seeing and wine-tasting tours.

The Gold Coast Hinterland features a wide variety of cultural, historical, and natural attractions for locals and visitors alike to appreciate. Popular sites within the hinterland include Adventure Parc, Alpaca Barn and Rainforest Gallery, Binna Burra, Glow Worm Caves, Gold Coast Historical War Museum, Lamington National Park, Mount Tamborine Winery and Homestead, Natural Bridge, O'Reilly's Guesthouse, Queensland Wine Centre, Springbrook National Park, Tamborine Mountain Gallery Walk, Tamborine National Park, The Crocodiles and Dragons Reptile Show, and Thunderbird Park.
